Today, in Math 7, students were able to work in small groups to discover rates and unit rates using bubble gum and, in some cases, sugar-free chewing gum. Students hypothesized, gathered data, calculated rates and unit rates, and then used estimation to form a conclusion.


Tekamah-Herman K-12 students will have the opportunity to view a performance from the Many Moccasins Dance Troupe on Thursday, March 2nd at 1:30pm in the south gym. This performance is open to students' parents as well.
The Many Moccasins Dance Troupe is an ensemble of professional Native American performers who utilize Traditional Native American dance to entertain, educate and uplift audiences around the world. Founded in 2001, and based out of Winnebago Nebraska, The Many Moccasins Dance Troupe was originally created to give audiences exposure to a wide range of Native American dance and education. From sold out theatrical shows to motivational presentations, the Many Moccasins also provides classroom setting workshop that includes interactive learning and performing. The presentation features traditional Native American historic narration and a “Show and Tell” hands-on activity which invites participates to view and learn various artifacts in the Native American Culture.


Attention Junior Parents: There will be a Parent Prom Meeting at 6:30pm on Wednesday, March 8th. This will be immediately after the track parent meeting and before the Disney parent meeting. Parents are welcomed to attend this FREE workshop about how to keep your child safe online. This engaging workshop will teach you how to keep your students smart, safe and private in today’s 24/7 digital world. They will be going over the following topics:
• Digital Branding: How to build a positive digital brand to protect reputation and future opportunities.
• Communication: How to create open lines of communication with your kids about online safety.
• Safety: How to protect your family's privacy, safety, and mental health.

The Lion’s Club in Tekamah, NE sponsored a Peace Poster Contest this year. The theme was “Lead with Compassion”. In art we encouraged our 5th graders to think about peace, creatively express and what it means to them and share their unique visions of the world.
The posters were judged, and the first-place poster went onto districts in Grand Island. The Tekamah chapter winners were.
