
Tekamah-Herman Schools will have a 10:00 AM late start on Thursday, February 23, 2023. No AM Pre-School and no morning activities.

Mrs. Hansen has our first graders persevering to build card houses. This analogy helps them learn to keep going, even when it's hard!



The Lion’s Club in Tekamah, NE sponsored a Peace Poster Contest this year. The theme was “Lead with Compassion”. In art we encouraged our 5th graders to think about peace, creatively express and what it means to them and share their unique visions of the world.
The posters were judged, and the first-place poster went onto districts in Grand Island. The Tekamah chapter winners were.
1st- Liberty Ritter
2nd- Mettie Bridges
3rd- Sophia Cass


These 5th & 6th grade students participated in the Burt County Spelling Bee this morning. Olivia Struss took 1st place and Mettie Bridges placed 4th!


Preschool buddies with our 6th graders! Today they were practicing counting and 1:1 correspondence, meeting both academic and social learning goals for our students! Way to go Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. Carlson!


Mrs. Smith has her students practicing finding area and perimeter by creating their own playgrounds. These kind of real-world connections make learning STICK for our students. Way to go Mrs. Smith!




Today our 6th graders were lucky enough to be able to a live performance of Percy Jackson at The Rose Theater. This is a direct connection to our curriculum as Percy Jackson is an anchor novel of study. Thanks to Mrs. Carlson and Mrs. Fleischman for organizing this trip!

REGULAR MEETING NOTICE:
The Board of Education of Tekamah-Herman Schools will meet in regular session on January 9, 2023, at 7:30 PM in the media center, 112 North 13th Street Tekamah, Nebraska. An agenda of the subjects to be considered, kept continually current, is available for public inspection at the Office of the Superintendent. The Board shall have the right to modify the agenda at the public meeting when convened.

Mrs. Eriksen's kindergarten students are finishing up their learning on toys and play by building a toy and writing about it! What awesome work by these students and by Mrs. Eriksen!





Family fun with pre-school! Mrs. Palmer and Miss Mary organized a gingerbread making party for our pre-school families, and it was a great success! We love having our families here!




All after school activities and practices have been cancelled for this evening. In addition, JH Boys Basketball AND HS Wrestling has been postponed.

A poem in two voices was performed for our 5th grade students as part of a summative assessment in language arts class. Mrs. Kahlandt and Mrs. Carlson displayed fluent and articulate reading for our students. Fantastic work!
