Students this past week watched Inside Pixar Episode 2: Inspired.
We learned how designer Deanna Marsigliese was inspired by Picasso’s
cubist portraits when creating the characters in the great beyond for
Soul and used wire sculptures to help form the characters movements.
Students then looked at Picasso’s paintings and his later minimalist
line drawings. Using different wire techniques students created their
own wire sculptures. Using light to cast shadows with the wires added a
new dimension to this project.
